November Update :shooting_star:

Hello everyone!!

I’ve been quite busy this month with college applications, but I’m glad I could still get the Arrays tutorial done and have narrowed down the Steam game options! (Albeit a day late, it’s technically december now! )

What’s happening next month?
By the end of next month, the Steam fundraiser will officially launch!!
I’ll confirm the final Steam game soon (By the end of the week) once I get the data from the surveys and hear back from the original developers, then work on preparing assets for the fundraiser page for the rest of the month.

Poll time!
I would love to hear your opinions on which game we should put on Steam!
You can vote in this inconspicuous dropdown:

Vote here!

WAIT!! Before you vote, an important disclaimer:
The results of this poll WILL NOT determine which game gets published.
This is a simple poll of interest and will be used alongside other info (Like the original dev’s opinions and polls to non-makecoders).

I understand, vote here!
Which of these games do you think would represent the best of the MakeCode community?
  • Hebes
  • Red Line (Any version)
  • Mono
  • Layer 6 (Demo)
  • Zombies of God
  • Gena
  • Three Brave Cats (Any version)
  • Booga Bruh
  • Makecode Puzzle Challenge
  • Voxel Edge
  • Magnate

If there are any games you think I’ve missed, let me know!

Pixel Smash.

I decided not to include any games that required you already know about Makecode to play or enjoy them ^^

with all due respect to your decision, why is mono there? mono is very unfinished and basically has no gameplay and i dont have any plans to keep working on it. Every other game on the poll has some sort of actual gameplay so think replacing mono with other options like Pixel Smash, TMF, or Sophie’s castle adventure would be better.

Not saying you have to, im just not really proud of mono

I liked it a lot! Mono had a lot of promise, and while the gameplay wasn’t entirely finished, it was pretty clear what it would be made up of (with the weapons choice and mentions of monsters)
It would definitely be more work than some of the other items, but it was so enjoyable and promising I think it could work!
Also— I disregarded whether the original developer would continue the game, because I planned on having myself and other users continue the development instead.

we need more games, like i get that little people like my game but i do think mbg should here (Shameless Self Promotion), we need a wide variety of games, 75 at the least, for some better ideas of what everyone likes you should go to MGA, because its ran by votes (EVEN MORE SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION, shame on me)

75 is more good games then there are on makecode, and I believe that there is enough variety in that list anyways.

@randomuser so you intend to finish the games yourself? I understand the decision but for some reason it feels weird in my mind.

Now that I’ve watched this I’ll tell ya a little something:

You can put multiple values of different kinds into 1 array. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!?

I try not to engage with these types of things but i can’t help but question the notion of continuing the development of a game without the original developer along with their vision and all the different factor contributing to their choices. Isn’t that a bit much, unless there’s something i’m missing here, which i highly likely as i have been following this topics full history since it’s creation.
