I suck at exploring places and easily get lost in Metroidvania styled games unless I have a map. I like were the game is headed either way. But the menu to switch between types of attacks gives me a tough time but as a great game once told me

TANGENT TIME!
I personally like to think (I didnāt get to the second boss unfortunately) that the world the character is in is a dimension created by an evil god trapping souls that did misdeeds and unluckily enough, fall into this dimension, but hereās the catch. Its generally targeted against certain people because people were mean to his bloodline literally crossing a red-line. However he doesnāt and canāt contain control of everything instead he can only control land formations. And since he canāt be rude to anyone (Itās hard to tell the real story without saying anything rude) he instead forms chains holding everything together, acting as one of those anti gravity sets, but this also serves as a reminder to the trapped souls they will forever be trapped. Chained forever to this world living the rest of eternity in this red and black world. The bugs are souls of bugs (Reason why they arenāt intelligent) that didnāt have anywhere else to go and take form of the bodies the main god creates (hence the crawling spikes) and in order to make this entertaining creates save stones that will forever entrap the souls there. Tricking them by their own desire to live eternally not knowing that this traps them forever. The only way out of the world? Going through a brutal painful agonizing⦠you get the point. In order to leave, but because of the save stones thatās impossible. How would you get out then? By deleting the creator of the dimension. Delete the GOD of the world.
(That got dark quick, welp, thereās some lore for inspiration if you need some)
(And I am totally saying add yourself as a final boss. I think it would be fun to battle a literal GOD of a world)

You are close to the lore of red-line:dungeons in some ways which is crazy bc I did a horrible job at showing it in red-line. Anyways stay turned for red-line dungeons itās the current lil red-line thing Iām working on it should be easier and have better lore
Dang, this theory reminds me a lot of Hollow Knightās lore (also nice call out to āget goodā XD). I havenāt finished red line, but I think your theory is really cool! It makes a lot of sense honestly.
Oh hey, if you like lore and such, you should also check out Magnate. Octodemonās done a really good job at making the lore, and I think world 2 is gonna be dropping pretty soon! I was actually gonna make a lore theory sometime soon here actually as well

Iām not joking about battling a GOD think about it, they could change the field mid battle, use multiple different types of attacks, and overall make it near impossible to beat. THATS what makes a boss so satisfying to beat in my opinion. Knowing you have actually improved through the game is also a satisfying thing. (I play a lot of Hollow Knight so I like the bosses with unique abilities only special to them) Also its a good way to experiment with boss battles since a god would have any move set. (If you didnāt know I love going on tangents sry)
(Instead of using B to change you could instead implement multiple buttons extension. It adds more buttons I believe. arcade and game boy have the D-pad and 4 buttons. That could make things easier in terms of controls for the player.)

Donāt change any of the lore of the game! Many good games with good stories change their stories ruining the game and story and make so many bugs. Iām not saying you will, but I donāt want such a good game to be ruined. Keep the story as it is. (You have no idea how many of my fav games did this)

Yeah ig the orginal lore of this game is kind of sucks in my opinion. And Iām really excited and motivated to work on the new red-line dungeons game which redoes a lot of the lore stuff I donāt like in the organinal game. Dw tho ima keep this game as it is og lore

anyways for anyone that doesnāt know I am activily working on a new red-line game it reboats parts of the lore, and Iām really exicted to work on it. I never expected this game to reblow up after a year lol. Iāll update red-line dugeons soon once the ut2 ends
I love the visual story telling and animation in this revamp. I actually took a scene at the tree and used it as inspiration for Art class. The boss is difficult but just like Attempting to beat the āBroken Vesselā Iāll find a way :,). I can already guess the three characters met based on their looks. 1 the village elder, he is a simple guy who might give out quests for the player however is isnāt to impactful on the story.
2 The purple man (ITS WILLIAM AFTON!!!) is another fighter as our character, because he follows the same idle animation, wears a hat similar to the players hat, covered in bug blood, and finally lives in a temple like structure with.
3 The Green eyed character is actually a creature of the trees using life energy from plants as a defence. Technically being a druid, whose life force is bound to the tree which is why they donāt talk to us in the revamp.
