Tilemap Not Saved And Mouse Cursor Glitched Out

So I just created a new tilemap (level) for my new platformer game, and when I had finished I clicked the done button (as you do) and it took me back to the main screen, but my cursor glitched out and the tilemap didn’t save somehow. I couldn’t find it in the tilemap editor or the “My Assets” tab. This isn’t the first time a glitch has caused me to lose a lot of progress, so I’d like to know if I can recover my lost tilemap?

If you name the tilemap, even if the block disappears you can still find the tilemap in the assets tab.

I think I had this exact problem just a bit ago. I was trying to save a tilemap but when I clicked Done it would exit the tilemap editor normally, but I couldn’t scroll or click anything. Sometimes the tilemap I had been editing would be stuck to my cursor and I couldn’t put it down or even delete it, even though the delete section would turn red and the yellow thing showing where the tile would connect to blocks if it was set down would appear, clicking wouldn’t do anything. I ended up having to close the window and open it again and when I did that my edits would go away. I think the problem was that I had a bunch of blank tilemaps in Assets and one of them was glitched (it had a little warning on it) When I deleted a bunch of them it went back to normal so try deleting any glitched or unused tilemaps from the Assets section.

That’s exactly what happened! I’ll definitely try deleting the blank maps, thanks for the info!

Yep! That is exactly what was happening to me! Glad to see this solution worked!

No offense, I am very glad you got your assets back, but your solution didn’t work for me. I might’ve done something wrong.

Oops! I guess I read your response wrong. I also want to clarify that this didn’t get my assets back, it just stopped reverting new changes and glitching the cursor. I think the problem is with the saving, like maybe something glitches and then the project can no longer save. This means that the changes in between the last save and the glitch are, unfortunately, most likely permanent gone due to not being saved. I am also just a normal site user and do not know anything about the backend of the site. I don’t actually know if what I did fixed the problem or if it resolved on its own.

no problem!
