Hi everyone! Sorry we’re a day late this week. To be completely honest, I was so busy yesterday that it just evaded me until late last night. But don’t worry, we still have something to talk about this week and this topic comes to you from @richard himself!!
We want to talk about fishing games today, and encourage you to think of games that have fishing in them that might not be the main focus of the game. Some games that have fishing that might not be the main purpose are: Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Ocarina of Time, Sonic Adventure, and many Pokemon games. You can also consider games where fishing is the main focus like Ridiculous Fishing.
What makes that fishing mini game your favorite? Does it have a specific mechanic that makes it enjoyable? Are the graphics really nice? Maybe you like it because of its memeability (no that is not a word, but you get it)? Let’s chat about it!
Agreeable. For me I either bomb the fish from the air (y’know, like in real life) or try and grab them with my bare hands while swimming before they swim away–simply perfect. And oh so realistic!
Probably the fishing in monster hunter rise, I like it because unlike most fishing minigames it is really quick, and not necessary for the actual game (unless you’re like me and you do it a lot)
This one, but only because I haven’t really played any other games with a fishing mechanic (yeah, I know that includes a lot of classics, but guess what? I haven’t played them!)
I would say Animal Crossing because filling up the museum after fishing is amazing.
And I know we’re supposed to talk about favorites here, but I have to talk about Stardew Valley fishing and how much I dislike it. For a supposedly calming game, the fishing mechanic in Stardew is super stressful! I didn’t do it often, because I was so bad at it, but the times that I did try fishing, I was so far from succeeding. I never knew I was bad at clicking until playing that mini game.
