Wow very similar to mine. Imagine Dragons is also one of my favorites, but more when I was younger.

Some of my favorite tracks are actually from a game. Now, they’re of course metal-like or rocky, but whatver. Point is, every song on the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack (there’s a few more songs than on the playlist) is a total slammer. I’m not just talking about the instrumental and vocals though (they still :fire: though).

I’d suggest to everyone to at least give it a listen, because the songs’ lyrics are super complex (in the way of their meaning). Every song is closely tied to it’s theme and the boss/situation that it’s attached to. The songs carry themes of society and social issues too, like in Collective conscioussness which talks about blindly following a mass, instead of standing for what you truly believe. The tracks are genius because they don’t specifically refer to any political party or such, but rather morality and a way of life.

Also, some songs include deeper lyrics which have trivia behind them, and they all flow so seemlessly with the songs they’re in.

Now, enough with the deep dive into the lyrics of the songs, and back to their compete feel. They’re all packed with power, making you super pumped while you play the game. Even the standard combat non-boss music is extremely motivating to listen to.

TL;DR: Jamie Christopherson is a genius

I see why a lot of people tend to dislike metal and rock. I mean it is subjective so it’s of course up to taste! However, metal comes in a lot of flavors (or sub-genres) which means even metal fans often only like a part of the whole genre. Same with rock.

:fire: WARNING: The following is just an opinion that is mostly generalized. I mean no harm to anyone mentioned, and it does not apply to anyone equally. If you can’t deal with that, please refrain from reading the following paragraph. Thanks

When it comes to K-POP and J-POP, I’m not a huge fan of pop generally, so this is no different. However, the reason I distance myself from K-POP and such is because of the fans. Now, don’t get me wrong, (and this is not meant to offend anyone), there are totally cool K-POP fans that mind their own business and just listen to the music they like. But a lot of them tend to be obnoxious, often because they’re attracted to the asian singers, not the music itself (you know the kinds of fangirls I’m talking about, don’t you?), which draws me away from the genre completely because I don’t want to be associated with that kind of vibe. For all I know, K-POP could be the greatest thing I have ever heard (most likely not due to my other tastes), but I think I’ll pass.

See thats part of the problem- any healthy fans of those types of music would be hiding it, only further empowering the toxic minority

Toxicity is in any fandom and community I feel like it’s associated with some music/games/film and puts people off form watching or listening to that thing.

Also on the topic of metal some of the nicest people I’ve met listen to metal all the time. I know metals not for everyone one but I feel like there’s the angry metal fan that puts people off.(but if you just don’t like metal that’s fine people like different things)

Does anyone find it weird that I like to listen and sing (in French or Spanish) to French or Spanish songs without really knowing French or Spanish? (I’m a native English speaker)

Although I think it’s a pretty neat way to learn words and phrases of a language you want to learn. I learned how to say, ā€œhelp meā€ in French that way. (which is aidez moi)

Yeah I see that all the time! super great for learning… if only i could sing!

I just started listening to kpop about 1 week ago and let me just say it’s not as bad as I imagined

Past Me would be strangling Present Me right now

I will say though, kpop is not the best genre nor is it my favourite genre, but it is very impressive considering my past views. There was definitely some bias in my judgement of kpop and I will admit my dislike for kpop was not pure but rather peer-pressured.

tl;dr kpop ain’t that bad as it seems

songs that stuck out to me (You might know some of these are these are quite popular):
