Why does makecode not support the spread operator in JavaScript? (and why do you lie about it being JavaScript?)

I tried to use the spread operator to elegantly join multiple lists, but BAM! It is not supported by “Makecode’s TypeScript”. Why is that?

And why do we code in TypeScript under the name of JavaScript? (Even the AI [WHICH IS VERY HELPFUL BY THE WAY :rage:] says “TypeScript”) Are people scared of TypeScript so you just tell them it’s JavaScript, so they code in a strongly typed superset of JavaScript which improves their coding skills or something but don’t actually realize it? I really wonder why.

This is not negative feedback, I just find it strange that it is presented as JavaScript but it is actually TypeScript.

we don’t use the typescript compiler, we have our own compiler and we never got around to fully implementing the spread operator.

and the reason is because people don’t know what typescript is, but they do know what javascript is!

but if its not JavaScript shouldn’t you just call it typescript so people then know what typescript is??

isn’t typescript the same as javascript?

what in the wrong/j. Typescript is javascript but JavaScript is not typescript. Typescript is a subset of js.

No, Typescript (TS) is a subset of Javascript (JS) I would go more into detail, but I need to sleep
