I made a 3D voxel rendering engine. I was inspired by https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ztkh1r1ioZo because of the fps, though this one gets very laggy. the algorithm is one made by Amanatides and Woo.
your rendering all sides of every voxel, which takes a lot of the FPS. if you had one big rectangle, you’d only render 6 sides, which would save space. but what do i know, i mainly make space shooters.
it uses ray tracing, which technically only renders faces that it hits. that alone is better than doing 3D point → 2D point, project on screen, and doesn’t use any sorting. what I don’t understand is what this “rectangle” is
