A Question

@MakeCode Here’s a thought: how does Makecode make money?
If something isn’t profitable, a billion-dollar corporation like Microsoft will (probably?) not do it.
If Makecode isn’t making money, it’s most likely an advertisement, but what is it advertising?

Hey, you’re onto something here… @richard is what he said right?

Huh, I never thought about that. Maybe sponsorships and schools?

It’s common for Computer science classes to use Makecode as a basic game engine for kids. I guess that’s how makecode gets funded, but I don’t know.

The amount of money that makecode consumes is a drop in the bucket for microsoft. So it’s not hurting them financially in any way, while giving them good publicity. There’s your answer.

Also getting kids into makecode makes them more likely to buy microsoft services later in life

Well, however it’s making money, I’m glad it’s here!
