I’m so dumb lol I was intending to go for that topic, but not your post lol sorry!
is @Sarge going to be the first person to reach 100 nice replies?
Mmm… chicken nuggies…

It’s… it’s…
IT’S MR. @SARGE’S ANNIVERSARY!!!
Yeees, yes, yes, so…
Ok…
I’ve been preparing for this… so uh, ah yes!
When did I first see Mr. @Sarge when I joined the forums?
The first time I saw a post from Mr. @Sarge was this post in @AqeeAqee’s raycasting extension. This was while I was making Dark vs. Light 2 and was trying to understand the extension. I sorta just skimmed past his post lol, but that was it: the first time I ever came across Mr. @Sarge on the forums.
What was the first post from Mr. @Sarge that I actually properly read and replied to?
This post. I still don’t know how the declutter extension works lol! I’ll figure it out eventually. But, from what I understand… you make a temporary sprite that only exists for a certain period of time, with just some class to identify it? Idk lol. I think this was the first time Mr. @Sarge ever replied to me, which is crazy too lol.
What’s my favourite post from Mr. @Sarge?
Hmm… this was a toughie. I’d say… this. Yep, that’s my favourite post from Mr. @Sarge in the history of the forums. It’s because since day one, all I’ve ever wanted was for someone to analyse my game, top to bottom, and tell me exactly what they thought about it, with the good, the bad and the ugly. And that’s exactly what he did. So I’ll probably never forget this post. Like, uh ever .
What do I like so much about Mr. @Sarge?
I just like how much of a leader he is. Every time something goes wrong, he always tries to fix it. Even if he had nothing to do with it. He’s like that one dad you never had. A perfect example is this post. Oh god, I love this post. Is this my favourite post? Nearly, not quite. But it’s just incredible. No one else on the whole forum had the guts to bring this discussion back after the hyper the dragon situation, but he was able to do it. It was probably after this that I noticed this guy is actually a SERIOUSLY good person. Like, beyond human level good.
What’s my favourite thing that Mr. @Sarge has made?
BetterSettings. Full stop. It’s one of the best extensions of all time. I always just thought like, why? There’s already a Settings extension, but Mr. @Sarge just went “nah”, and just added like a million more things to it! I’d say it’s my second favourite extension (extra effects in first).
Oh, I’m out of ideas of what to say .
Well, uh, in summary… happy anniversary Mr. @Sarge. You are such a huge part of the forums, and honestly… you’ve kind of changed who I am as a person. In a good way, obviously. You’re just always out to do the right thing, no matter how awkward it is. You help so many people every time you’re on the forums.
Without further ado, I hereby pronounce you, A Pro. (you know, cuz I’m ChimbroDaPro, so I can can pronounce you as- nevermind)
Enjoy your forumversary!

Holy moly foley pulley Rolycoly Bernatolli! It’s @Sarge’s anniversary!
I kind of wish I had an animation ready like that time I celebrated @richard’s birthday, but I’ve been working parallel on both my new upcoming game and schoolwork.
Here’s to the #1 user on the forum!
Happy Anniversary, @Sarge!
(Is it just me, or did a lot of MakeCoders join the forum in January?)
Happy anniversary @Sarge !!!

Happy birthday @personalnote!
FIVE YEARS!
I started on this journey when I was looking for a new environment for a college class that I was teaching. Learning coding techniques with an actual programming environment is so much more effective than teaching with pseudocode and flowcharts. MakeCode Arcade, even in its early beta days, fit my needs perfectly, and it’s become so much more since.
Over these subsequent five years, I’ve created a bunch of games, we’ve written curriculum together, I’ve travelled to Redmond to meet the team, we’ve shown classroom teachers how to use this environment and the curricula surrounding it, and now, starting just last month, I finally get to teach with it! In a real high school! With real kids!
Of course, through this community, I’ve been able to interact with so many amazing and creative people. Y’all continue to impress and amaze me. I still haven’t finished the textbooks, and I still haven’t finished Monopoly, but I haven’t stopped working on either one.
It’s been an incredible journey so far with such wonderful people. I look forward to many more days, months, and years ahead with all of you!
Cool I can’t wait to read the textbooks
