It’s the first Monday of the month, which means it’s time for a new mini game jam! Starting this month we’re going to be occasionally asking forum members to come up with themes for the mini game jam. This was inspired by @danger_kitty’s excellent hacking mini game jam a few months back. With that out of the way, let’s get to the theme for November!
That’s right! We’re looking for food related games. As always, you can interpret this however you want as long as it’s clear to the player how it relates to the theme. In other words, a game where you cook or play as food is totally on theme but a game that has a hamburger in the corner of the screen for three seconds in one cutscene and no other food is probably not.
Rules
Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade
Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation
Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content.
You must be at least 9 years old to participate.
All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission.
You have two weeks to enter! The jam will close at 11:59 PM PDT on Monday, November 20th 2023
As always, all of the submitted games will be played on our Twitch channel live stream after the game jam ends. Because the ending week is Thanksgiving here in the US, we’ll be playing the games the Friday the week after the jam ends.
Yep. I feel your pain… when I first came here, I was SO ready for any challenge that came my way. I was so excited when I saw the mini game jam. Then I realised it wasn’t a competition…
Well this is a MINI game jam so it’s ment to just be for making games for fun but a regular GAME JAM is a competition. also @richard or who ever else fixed the title of this topic, thank you
A mini game jam is for the community to come together and show their creations. A normal game jam is an actual competition, with winners, honorable mentions, etc.
