Hey folks!
We took a month off of mini game jams last month because of the new Arcade release but now that it’s April, we’re back! This month, we’re going for a truly mini game jam because the theme for this jam is Tiny Games!
So what does it mean to be tiny? Well, that’s up to you! You could make a game with really tiny sprites or maybe a game with normal sized sprites but those sprites are representing tiny things like ants. Or you could make a narrative game that tells a complete story in 30 seconds. Really, any interpretation of the word “tiny” is fine, just make sure that someone can tell how it relates to the theme without extra explanation.
One quick note: If you do make a game with tiny sprites, I suggest you make your sprites at least 2x2 pixels due to how our physics engine works. Sprites with a width or height of 1 pixel don’t always set off overlap events correctly.
Rules
- Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade
- Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation
- Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content.
- You must be at least 9 years old to participate.
- All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission.
You have two weeks to enter! The jam will close at 11:59 PM PDT on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025. As always, we will be playing all of the games on livestream on the last Friday of the month.
Submit your games by posting them in this thread!
