I think its fun, but i didn’t exactly understand it. Idk what to do with the score or the items and whatnot. Maybe once it releases on the forum with instructions. The art is definitely nice.

Nice little timing and/or button mashing challenges. If i had to nitpick, the art between charcters and the minigames is very inconsistent.

Hyper Speed
The fast pace is quite fun, but the controls do take a while to get used to. I still have only won the first track.
If i had to design different controls, i’d make it so A and B turn you based on their direction relative to eachother (so B turns you left and A turns you right) and steering would be done by the D-pad in a way that matches your current direction.
Of course, i haven’t tested this so i can’t say its better or worse than the controls ingame.
Yeah, the controls are definatly the weakest part of the game. I decided on WASD with Q and E because that worked the best with local multiplayer as is.
Please note: I haven’t submitted the finished product, only a demo, and while it may look horribly unfinshed, Pixel Pistons is being brought to another level, another day…
The way this game builds on to such a simple mechanic is great! All the gimmicks that come in during the round were easy to understand at a glance. The art is great and the music is made by InvalidProject. What is there to be said. No review is without criticism tho, and i do feel like the HUD elements made it hard to tell where the ball is, especially with how its color blends with the floor. If that was the intended effect, it definitely did work.
Final rating: 10/10 if this isn’t among the winners i don’t know what will be

Pixel Pistons
…Are you sure you submitted the right version? The oponent just goes forward and gets stuck at the bottom of the screen, none of the menus seemed to work, and the starting car was so slow that it took about five minutes just to do 3 laps of the race, even then, the race seemingly didn’t end. When i selected a skin, i also got softlocked. I’m gonna assume this version is incomplete because it seemingly isn’t in a playable state.

I…um… Yeah that’s not supposed to happen… Why is the menu broken and the opponents shouldn’t be doing that. I really don’t think I’ve submitted the right game. I think this might be linked to my device reloading itself completely. Thanks for telling me that because when I played it before, the enemies drove normally and the menus seemed to work perfectly fine. Do you know why this happened? I’m really annoyed about this. I guess the game might just be like that then, since I lost my code and can’t update it anymore…
