i would first try making a clean one bit (only 2 colour) linework. I usually do a loose and rough sketch to get something down quickly [1] (even if it’s not that good) before refining it [2]. After getting the linework i’d block in the main colours [3] and then shade [4].

But in all seriousness, Keep working! Art takes time. Sometimes its easier to redraw it until you find a shape you like.
