Honestly, I donât really share my thoughts on anything, so Iâll guess I share my thoughts on the whole the forum is dying thing. Sorry if I ramble on, Iâm not good at speaking.
I remember the post âthe forum is dying, why?â post and looking back on it, it seems like the things people wanted (like more users coming into the forums) they regret it now. A while ago, some new users came flooding in. Eventually the people said the âforums are dyingâ isnât a thing anymore and that weâre fine again.
A month or two later and weâre back where we started with the âforum is dyingâ again. Honestly, I feel like people are just having fun. Many people want to forums to be code and code only and I donât really agree with that, but I respect their opinions. But I donât get it why people are confused that the Chatting Area is being used as a Chatting Area, or that people are posting memes on MakeCode Memes. Itâs called the MakeCode forums for a reason. Itâs not just code, itâs actual discussion.
However, I do think people are correct when they say that people are posting random memes when they donât belong in that area, going off topic, etc. But thereâs more to it. People are leaving, sometimes temporarily, because of life, changing game engines, or simply growing out of MakeCode. So, while I donât think the forums are dying, I donât think theyâre thriving either.
I hope MakeCode keeps living on. As for me, Iâm not leaving, mainly because I donât many places to go.

update on the @Danny_Devention situation!!
weâve talked about stuff, and heâs for sure coming back to the mainstream stuff on the forums soon, just to stick things out and finish what we can. As soon as that is done though, we donât really have an excuse to keep using this stuff, but weâll stick around until our bigger projects start releasing. yeah. thanks for the support guys, and for everyone that helped clarify some things he was worried about.
This isnât just a forum thing though, where we are at the seasons changed kinda aggressively and the less sunlight/cold made him kinda sad is all. Now that weâve started taking our seasonal vitamin dâs, were doing better.

oh I was talking about how it seemed like everyone started quitting in November, which looking back wasnât really that many people. (my bad). yeah the forums arenât dying guys, Its just different from what it was all that time ago.

not necessarily! Great new extensions are being made, and awesome games like makecode football and JTspeedrunâs sonic (i hope he finishes it) or AllegoryNothingâs makecode rpg.

Thanks, I believe that there is alot of sugarcoating, but also just a general misunderstanding of why older users choose to leave. Itâs not just a distaste for users having fun itâs an over community behavioral shift. If that even makes sense lol-

Jamiroquai fun fact of the day: There have been plenty add-ons to albums. With Emergency on Planet Earth, it had remixes and concert performances (granted you got the 2-cd set), with RotSC, it had remixes, a few concert performances, an edit of Stillness in Time, an instrumental of Morning Glory, and Space Clav, and for the rest, I dunno because I donât have those sets, but itâs still nice for some extra bang for your buck when it comes to Jamiroquai.
