Ok MY tutorial on how to make makecode music! (and how to make it sound less like note spam!)
some key factors to remember, the makecode sound editor most matches with piano and xylophone sheet music, so if youre going to use motifs/use notes from other songs search up song and piano, (eg hopes and dreams piano)
You can make Notes B scale and Sharp by clicking J after putting one down (im not sure how to do this on mobile) use the explosion for percussion (specifically drums) Here we go!

Reyces Tutorial to MAKEing makeCODE music!!!

Part one: the BASE of the song
All good songs have a main rhythm
Like They not like us, Undertale(track 71), And Hammer of justice (two are toby fox because why not)
so you need to get the basis of your song to begin with, Try to play around and see what works!

This is important because you will use the basis (which you can also use as a MOTIF in other songs, more on that later) through out the song!

2: The TEMPO
Temp, (also known as BPM) is how fast a song is, makecodes base bpm is 120 bpm. (bpm means beats per minute)
image
if you want a really fast song change it and make it higher, slower is lower!
3: The back-round instruments!
when you make a song if you only use one instrument it will be bare bones and boring, we dont want that!

As you can see the main sound is cars, while other sounds (eg cherrys, computer, and explosion) are in the backround to help give it a base!
4: Time!
A song needs to last a time to not over stay its welcome AND feel long enough to not feel to short!
battle themes/level themes dont need to be long and can be short, s 1-2 minutes are good!
while songs with lyrics often feel to short at this time so 3-4 minutes is better, however dont just repeat the same notes again and again like 20 times to extend it! which goes into our next one!
5: MOTIF’s
All great songs can sound like others too! and have references by having a short snippet!
A large one is DONT FORGET’s motif

this ties in to the base of the song, it should be in a lot of the songs main melody. but shouldn’t be everywhere in the song, or else it will just get annoying!
Conclusion: Makecode songs can be good of you know what youre doing (@InvalidProject’s music slaps) like most music making places! go on into the world and make your monsterous songs (@randomuser asked for this so shout out to her)
