The egg (I think). I dont mean to sound annoying, but you never specified that it had to be a CHICKEN egg, so it could be a dinosaur egg.

The MakeCode Forums 3: Status Update 2

Once again, another week of HUGE progress!!!

At the start of the week, all new assets were transferred into The MakeCode Forums 3!!!

I’m super excited for all of you to see this game, because it (once again) introduces a new gimmick never once seen in MakeCode Arcade!!! (seriously, I’ve checked, no one has pulled this off )

If you’re really really smart, you can figure out the gimmick by cracking this code:

Anyway, some more news! @pecan4 earlier posted about the lack of realism with the posts in The MakeCode Forums 3! I was intending on keeping the true look of the posts a surprise, but I really want to show it now :upside_down_face:

Along with that, there are many other quality-of-life-things added to The MakeCode Forums 3! A good example is the fact that the menu has been updated to allow you to return to the Home Screen.

I’m kind of boring you with graphics and quality of life stuff, so I should probably give you a bit more progress.

The MakeCode Forums 3 will be split into 3 parts! Part 1 is complete! I am about to work on Part 2, the longest and hardest part, then Part 3 will be the finale!!!

Also, @richard, you don’t have to answer this, but is it going to be possible to stream the game when it’s done? It’s very long, and, I think it may take a very long time to beat. Again, this one is a bit different, so you really don’t have to.

Also, for anyone curious, the game should be releasing mid to late August, just a bit after the Olympics. I’ll also be putting a completion percentage after each update.

The MakeCode Forums 3: 48%

And here’s an interesting teaser (epilepsy warning, I think (idk much ant epilepsy)):

I spent hours of trying every way to decode your secret message with my knowledge of cryptography. And I have to know… is it a jumbled message that doesn’t require anything but moving letters around meaning I wasted hours of my life on it. Or does it involve cryptography.

I did the same thing and also want to know this.

I dont like coding with text so I looked for alternatives. Scratch makes you do everything from, well, scratch, so its hard to make a good game. However, makecode is simple and effective, dispite its many limitations. I have been trying to switch to UE5’s blueprint scripting method but I keep hitting road blocks.

It’s closer to real coding, and has limitations. It helps.

Looks like the Scratch Team is begging its community for ideas on reimagining their ideas page
THIS FORUM COMMUNITY IS BETTER THAN THE SCRATCH COMMUNITY

I think I have a lead. i9KeJHRrMVfo looks like an odd text combonation, but it looks perfectly in place on a URL. I have allready tried https://forum.makecode.com/i9KeJHRrMVfo but as you can see it leads nowhere. Try all the URLs you can think of, just https:// [any website] /i9KeJHRrMVfo

It a pretty good question!

MakeCode is pretty much just perfect for anyone who wants to code (yes, better than Scratch). Why?

Well, a few reasons:

  • Nice Community: Basically an infinite pool of knowledge about the engine!
  • Difficulty: When it comes to MakeCode, you decide the difficulty. YOU decide when “ok, my game is advanced enough”.
  • Limitations: This may sound hard to under at first, but, think about it. The limited strength of MakeCode Arcade can lead to extremely unique games!
