Chureki’s Space shooter V1.7.6 release

A typical shmup/space shooter game.

Features are:

  • Around 20 mins of gameplay (for a run from start to finish)
  • Three boss battles, each more challenging than the previous
  • Online multiplayer support for up to 2 people.

This game has a lot of features that are shoved into a tight package, causing it to be very hard to learn. You WILL go through a lot of runs either learning how to play the game or dying to the second boss battle (man it’s always the second boss battle i swear).

Feedback will be appreciated.

This game is quite fun!
however the orange boss shoots to fast you loss ammo faster then you get it then must accept death

and the health pack mechanic is a cool idea however the cool down is so long the more “mini” health packs spawn invalidating there use

every boss bullet being homing is ok but there should be a indicator when one is going to be fired

but

the items spawn rates are perfect around the time i am out of ammo a ammo box shows up and there are never to many enemies where you are to overwhelmed

I was thinking that the second boss (orange) was unbalanced as well, fixing very soon.

For the health pack (I’m assuming you mean the ability and not the drop)
-it gives you slightly more ammo storage temporarily
-it gives you 8 hp (4 hp during a bossfight)
-gives you increased speed
-and double damage against bosses
I think these are enough perks (for now ig)

About the bullets:
For some strange reason I thought that I should make the game reaction-time dependent, I never even thought about adding an indicator, good idea adds to list

About the timing:
Most of the perfection is very coincidental, a spawn loop is about 5 seconds (which is gas) every ten seconds an ammo spawns, and after 20 seconds a med kit will drop.

Update 1.8:

New features:

  • a “wins” counter
  • a new gold skin that you can get after completing the game 5 times
  • second boss’s attack cooldown has been made longer
  • a subtle start animation (fade from black)
  • first boss’s attack cooldown is now dependent on RNG
