Learn how to use javascript! I’m very excited to start doing that cause it means i can finally work on huge projects without my progress halting due to insane lag and such after 4-5000 blocks

you don’t have to read this. Just pretend I said have a good break, which isn’t wrong because I did say it. so just forget what’s underneath this sentence and have a good break.

but if you really want to know
here it is

There’s always MakeCode MicroBit. it’s always there. where no one else is. nobody gives it any attention. so maybe you could. not just PixelDoodle, but anyone else who see’s this. that also includes you, the moderator approving this post. Oh and there’s circuit playground express which is even more unappreciated. so maybe go and give those editors some attention. you don’t have to. you could just ignore this post and pretend like you never saw it. but I know that one of you, at least one in eight billion humans on this planet, saw this post. you could try to shed some light on those MakeCode editors. you could be a good person, caring for inanimate objects on the internet. or just ignore like everyone else. the choice is yours…

Hahaha, trust me, micro:bit isn’t hurting for users! They just don’t post on our forum as often

That’s a really good reason to be leaving! Hopefully you find some new frontiers to explore that will further develop your programming skills : )
:people_hugging:
Maybe send over a new project of yours sometime!
And I’m not going to get too gushy because it’s just a break, but of course you know you’re one of my favorite friends on the internet, Makecode or not! :sparkling_heart:

I actually started on micro:bit! I used to have this dream of cramming 25 games into one… I think I never got past nine. I should try that…

isn’t there a limit on the microbit memory?

@Luke the micro:bit v2 has 128kb of ram, which is actually more than the meowbit’s 96kb!

you can also use the micro:bit v2 as an arcade board (with something like this) which is pretty cool because it means you can also use the radio for wireless multiplayer!

UE5 is the best. It should keep you learning for 2 years.

Update on this:

I’ve tried like 6 different game engines (Microstudio, Unity, GB studio, Gamemaker, Cocos, and Monogame) and so far none of them are as good as Makecode (Microstudio is best out of the 6)

As for VScode:

I haven’t tried this yet but I plan to sometime this week

Game engines aren’t “worse”. they all have pros and cons but it all boils down to preference. Most makecode users (from what I’ve seen at least) use it either for simplicity, visual scripting, or its many limitations. Professional game engines, like unity, godot, or UE5, are extremely flexible but very complex and can, get ready for this, easily make real 3D games. UE5 in particular has a visual scripting method called Blueprint which I am trying to learn to make 3D games.

What I’m trying to say is, like at the beginning, no game engines are worse than others.

Oh jeez I wrote all this but it sounds really mean …

Please don’t take this as rude or as me trying to correct one word in your post. I’ve just been wanting to say this for a really long time and this was my first opportunity.

@Rune This is all my opinion?

I know different game engines require different skill sets. Which is why I’m still looking for one that fits me. I’ve already had some of these game engines before I wrote the initial post and messed around with them. I know they all have different things their good at, and bad at.
