Thank you. This is very… reassuring. I truly appreciate that. I told my parents, and they said they would respect my career path choice for now on.

And your right. I should’t worry about predictions. I am passionate about this and it is something I love. truly thank you. This was a good reminder for me.

NOPE! Games like those have too many features to be made in Makecode

There are a lot of computer programmers in the world. That’s been the case for at least 15 years. I can go to a site like Fiverr and have a computer programmer write a program for me. Generative AI makes those people even more redundant than they already are.

The problem with Fiverr programmers and generative AI? They’re not very good. Their code always needs to be reviewed by good engineers and scientists. We do not have nearly enough of those.

Learning programming is important, as it gets you off of the ground. No one goes to university to become a programmer, though. Your degree is in computer science, or computer engineering, or software engineering, or data science, or mathematics … or something similar … and that is for a reason.

Learn as much as you can while you are in school. If you want to work with computers for a living, then there will always be a place for you … as long as you are constantly learning.

That said … the world always needs good pilots, too.

Thank you @AlexK. I will do exactly that. Maybe its time I should try and learn Java script?

Dont worry, AI sucks and wont be writing 10000 lines of Correct code anytime soon. I, a person who knows next to nothing about python, had to bugfix AI python code

With more and more use of ai people who can legitimately understand code will be ever more invaluable. I hope that there will be a big pushback against vibe coding in workplaces since it’s not always about solving a problem, it’s also about making new connections to make new ways to approach issues.

In art the reason why generative ai just isn’t very good is that lack of new connections - we develop unique paths and ways to approach an artwork that ai skips by making a finished piece instead of a process. I’d imagine coding is somewhat similar.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that at the root of it human creativity is still really important even for things like maths and coding

Similar to what Luke said, it’s all about the journey. You’ll learn a typing language when you’re ready and when it interests you. Until then, be happy in Blocks. There is so much that you can do in Blocks … wickedly sophisticated things … like object-oriented programming, arrays, parallel arrays, electronics and circuit building, robotics, artificial intelligence in a variety of forms, frame-based animation … and so many other things that we barely touch in courses that use a typing language.

Formal education forces you to follow a particular path that you don’t get to choose … someone else chooses your path for you. Embrace your informal education and the freedom to choose to learn what interests you. It’s the start of your path to lifelong learning, and it’s a wonderful thing.

hello everyone.

im just going to make this very short because of how tired i am, but im putting this straight

im done coding with this program, mainly because I’ve lost my spark and that makecode got banned in my school.

im going to be switching to scratch, but only because it has less limitations, and i can express myself more there i feel.

this community is better. I’ll stick around the forums and like some posts every so often, not much more than that.

also, im just insanely tired and have had no dedication recently so that’s another reason.

Hey guys just here to say that I’m leaving the forums, a friend taught me some python, I’ve already made my first fully functional game and I’m working on a new one. I am aware that there is python in makecode but it just doesn’t feel right to me so. I’m moving on, I’ll be back eventually. Hope you all have a good time. goodbye

It seems some of the best users of 2025 aren’t really active anymore.
Fixy, Bot and a few others.
(Why did I call you guys that?)
Fixitude and BotWarrior.
