There is saving! There is only two ways to reset the game: holding B and then pressing menu or dying in mortal mode.
Mortal mode is like steel soul in hollow knight or hardcore in Minecraft. It is only for people who are very familiar with the game, explorer and mercenary have saving.

To make this, I was inspired from projects on the forums and real commercial games too. And I already see influence from Seth in your screenshot. Totally take inspiration! Just don’t copy/modify assets.
The power of Anubis once found its way into the hands of mortals and caused the player great pain. Anymore would be a spoiler, refer to #5 for a hint on how to find the lore.
Seth/Kestone Preist like most of the bosses in this game is made with a whole lot of sprite utility extension. Look at the “priestBoss” function around line 1200 for the first encounter if you want specifics.
What is the Familiar Knight’s helmet made of? It’s a generic armor made solely to balance the Anubis fight with 2 extra HP. Actually, (definitely not made up on the spot answer) the Helmut was carved for the armies of a forgotten kingdom from ancient crystals now swallowed by the dunes. The Knight found the Helmut and weapons in a ruin and used them to test the player’s strength. Fun Fact: The Knight can be found observing the player from afar in numerous levels before their fight.
Seth does not die after you showdown in the village! If you look closely after dealing the final blow, you can see him fly away to the top right corner of the screen. (To Thunderstruck Mountains) If you want to follow him behind the locked door, search for a key which I will reveal is in a very “well” hidden place in the Merceneary/Mortal mode jungle.

Why is the little fire guy so hard to beat!
You mean Seth pt 2? That’s the hardest fight in the game because unlike Anubis, Seth really wants to kill you and has immense power to do so. He was added because my friend said Anubis was too easy.
It helps weaken the bandit gun meta plus it’s a different dodging challenge
