Hi y’all! I am leaving makecode,
I was already working on my last game for the purposes of nominating it on the makecode home page as my final mark here. But the nomination page was just closed for the foreseeable future. Instead, I am going to host my unofficial own game jam!
Your game should take place either on the brink of or in the post-Apocalypse.
I am judging and will be giving detailed feedback on every game submitted. Your game can be as sizeable as you want, but I encourage you to take advantage of the full time given.
That was actually going to be one of the themes for my game jam, maybe not anymore.
Now to the important part of this post…
I would’ve competed in this but I’m going to be on a trip until the 17th and will miss the entire game jam.
This is why you need to talk about the date in advance.
Do you think a Mascot Horror game would work for the theme? The story is: you’re the only person in a factory and everyone dissapeared, so you have to find a way out.
Not a generic one. Unless many lives are obviously in peril, a mascot horror game won’t fit.
Here is an idea to make it work better with the theme:
The company is nuclear power company and leaking radiation has resulted in the mascot of the company being brought to life and has killed/chasing everyone out of the facility. The player and the has been tasked to get to the reactor to stabilize it and prevent an explosion while avoiding the mascot.
I don’t understand how announcing the date earlier would have let you participate with the same amount of time, but I’m sad you can’t compete. Have fun on vacay!
I detect an unofficial game jam, must check it out, must check it out.
Honestly, based on what I’ve been reading so far in the thread, you @Bifrosty appear to be quite the natural when it comes to hosting unofficial game jams. Granted, I’m probably not going to join in as a contestant, but regardless, hoping that this unofficial game jam turns out successfully for you! Good luck with such future endeavours outside of MakeCode!
