As most of you know, the College Board has made some changes to the Create Performance Task this year due to AI tools (see https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-computer-science-principles/exam). Kelli has just finished updating Units 7 & 8 in the curriculum to reflect these changes.
Here is the Change Log so you can see what was updated:
Unit 7
PowerPoint files:
- Created a new PPT to introduce the CPT to students. It is called CPT Guidelines 2024.
- Note: All PowerPoint decks related to the Old CPT are now in a folder called Old CPT Resources
OneNote – updated pages:
- Overview of Unit 7 Content page
- Replaced the Student Handout page with the updated version from College Board
- Create Performance Task pages updated with estimated time
- Mock CPT Checklist & Written Responses page – updated with references to Components A-C
- Formative Assessments in AP Classroom
- CPT Program Backups – includes a section for students to take notes as they create their program. The notes are meant to help students keep track of errors they fix as they code and other discoveries they make as they program. The hope is that they can review the notes before the exam and then possibly recall errors they had in their code and other important items that they may be asked to discuss on their exam.
- CPT Checklist and Written Responses – renamed to CPT Components A–C, removed all the old CPT questions so that the only thing on the page are the items they are expected to upload to the Digital Portfolio.
OneNote - new pages:
- Added Mock CPT & CPT Suggested Timeline page
- Added a Written Response Categories page
- Added a Mock CPT Additional Practice: Written Response Prompts page – has the 4 written response prompts that are included in the CED
