Hello Makecode forums this is my devlog for my new game called CRUELTY a one hit fighting game. I’ll be posting progress and demos. I might accept ideas possibly. Anyway this is will be my most ambitious game yet.

Is this a knock off the stage kind of game
A platform fighter still takes more then one hit to win
Its a subgenre of fighting games ONLY about Neutral instead of combos
VERY hard to balance as In fighting games if you start a combo with a light attack it does less dmg then a heavy attack rewarding risk
but this throws that out of the window with everything being insta win options
its also doesn’t not have the weird joystick shenanigans to do moves.
So you spam the A and B button to fight
just look up the video games where every hit is deadly it’ll educate you in one hit fighters
also could anybody make a background pls
a weat field background pls
So
789 are kinda unusable because they make you jump
but 6-1 are useable for Different attacks
6 Light A
6 heavy (i think) B
6 for both AB
18 diffrent attacks
with no motion inputs such as 236. quarter circle forward
add blocking with 4 and low blocking with 1
20 options not including jumping dashing air dashes (dashing is double tap forward btw)
and a lot more
(6 more if you add dash attacks)
also because its one tap to win i bet there is a parry system (if not there should be)
each attack has different speed range and animations
and some hit low for even more mixups
and not even getting into projectiles
so i got a feeling with all this in mind it will still be Very completed

How would this work? A bunch of parries and blocking? Is it going to be like smash bros?
smash bros has no parrying really only blocking
I’m so confused
Isn’t perfect shielding parrying?
The img is the 9 possible inputs at any given update
spaces 7 (up back) 8 (up) 9 (up forward) are used for jumping
Spaces 4 (Back) and 1 (Down-Back)
are used for blocking
1 (down-Back) is used for low blocking
Attacks in fighting games are called as such
Other Technicalities
6L Forward Light
3H Down-Forward Heavy
Alright so with 6 inputs while grounded you have
6 Light attacks
6 Medium attacks ( Arcade only supports 2 so ignore this part)
6 Heavy attacks
THEN while airborn you have
9 light attacks
9 medium attacks ( Arcade only supports 2 so ignore this part)
9 heavy attacks
after that
you have 4 blocks
Low airborn
Low grounded
Airborn
grounded
thats a total of 34! (49 if you had a third button) options
Because you said you wont have Input Commands i wont explain them as thoroughly

It is done by Letting go of shield the moment a attack hits you
