how? look, the battle system i amd doing is gona work like this: Call function “start battle”: if enemy that started the battle = (put number depending on the enemy) then, set enemy1 to (), set tenemy2 to () (etc), then: call function “battle”: if “win” = true then (do some victory animation and change XP amount depending of the enemies), if not then: set “FighterCharacterMenu” to (options for attacking, defending, magic and/or team attacks and items) (then just show different options depengeing on what you choose, except for defense, it just makes the attacks do half the damage to the character defending, this will be done by changing a specific variable to true. Also, depending of what the player chooses, a variable’s number will be changed, like using a punch will put it in 1, using a hadouken will put it in… 68 i think, there’s gonna be a variable for every character in the battle) (after this then the characters do the attacks, the enemies do the attacks, also, effects like posion will do damage after the character or enemy attacks) then, call function “battle”. thinks like damaging the enemy are done in the event blocks “one sprite of kind LowDamagePlantAttack overlaps othersprite WaterTypeEnemy”.

Hear me out: there could be a alternate reality that has the other battle system, and a area where you have to go through both to progress!
I know that sounds very complicated but imagine how cool and unique that would be. Now i want to make a game where that is the main mechanic.
create sprites then call function “battle”: Check if the player won the game, if not then: let player decide what each character is gonna do, player attacks then enemy attacks, then repeat function.

then we could do more than just 2, kinda like in certain parts you play like in a normal RPG, either using my system or @Alex’s system, then in other parts is a shooter, etc. what do you think?

well i got a problem, i’m way too busy with school so, could somebody else do the system plz? to make a character do a melee just make the sprite invisible and send a projectile with the image, when a projectile touches a enemy yo u gotta change the type to something like “attack already hitted” or whatever you wanna call it, also projectiles must be of kinds like fire, metal, etc. depending on how’s the attack, also for status effects you gotta do a variable for every character, so the characters only have one effect, also make the characters (the one’s of the player and the enemies) of kinds like “beast”, “mage”, “fire element” (like for fireballs with eyes), etc. and make that they are inmune to some attacks (when the projectile hits, if it’s of a kind that the type is inmune to, then just make so it doesn’t does nothing but showing a message saying that the enemie is inmune, also make some of the player’s characters inmune to something idk), and i think that’s all. idk how to od the exp sistem.
I’m really sorry but i got way too much work from school, i will work on games when i finish it.
