Help with Registering My Business as a School on Microsoft for MakeCode and Minecraft Education Access

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for guidance on how to register my business as a school on Microsoft. Many resources from MakeCode require this status, and I’m not sure how to proceed. For example, I would like to offer educational emails to my students so they can access Minecraft Education. I’m also having trouble accessing the teacher resources on MakeCode Arcade and GitHub because my institution needs to be registered as a school.

I teach remotely, and all my classes are online. My company is called Informach - Núcleo de Aprendizagem, and I teach computational programming to children aged 7-14 using MakeCode. My Instagram is @programandocomdiversao, and the website for my course is https://programandocomdiversao.com.br.

Can anyone help me understand how to set up my company as an educational institution on Microsoft so I can unlock these resources for my students and myself?

Thank you in advance for your help!

For the MakeCode materials, we go through GitHub, so you would need to contact the folks over at GitHub Education to see if they can help you out:

Thank you!

I had to go through the verification process too, and it took a few days. I used my business email tied to a domain and answered their nonprofit questions honestly.

One thing that helped someone I know was verifying their institution through Microsoft’s Education portal, which then allowed access to those education-specific tools. Also, while working on that, they found the MVP fund overview useful for funding and connecting with helpful contacts, which made growing their program easier.
