It does not. It uses math and algorithms to detect the common number between the five questions, finally figuring out your number.
But It really works smoothly

If you guys want the secret, then here
[spoiler]the secret to this trick is about math. If someone says that the first card is a yes, you add 1 and if it’s the second card, you add two. If it’s the 3rd card and they say yes, you actually add 4. It doubles the number all the time when they say yes. Hopefully that makes sense. If the person says no, always add 0
If say yes on all cards
Card: 1 add 1
Card: 2 add 2
Card: 3 add 4
Card: 4 add 8
Card: 5 add 16
And if they say no, just add 0 [/spoiler]
