Ideas for Enemies in a Platformer Shoot Em Up Game

this is hard

great job! but…maybe you could slow down the spawn rate, its almost impossible after a few seconds…and make them appear in a way that makes it so they can’t just drop on top of you? its really annoying to get hit by something falling from…the sky…huh, that could be a enemy idea!

UPDATE!

Increased enemy spawn rate to 1500 milliseconds
Reduced Slow HP from 10 to 8
Proposed addition of Glitz enemy (@InvalidProject)

I’m pretty sure that no one is really gonna suggest more ideas so I’ll add finishing touches and finish the game.

heres another idea!

Name: Dropper
color: the color that is white but isn’t white(you know which one)
health: 1
extras: they stay in the air for a little while above the play before smashing down to the ground, not moving side to side anymore. after they land, they do not move anymore and are easy picking’s, but can still damage you and be a nuisance. if they hit you when they fall, they fly up again.

I plan the game to have 2 gamemodes:

  • Normal: Score is tracked by how many enemys you have killed at the end of the run, you earn a heart for every 15th enemy you kill.

  • Waves: Score is tracked by what wave you were on at the end of the run, you earn a heart before every 3rd wave, each wave will have 2 or 3 enemys more than the last.
