I am working on a platformer, and I don’t have a normal enemy in the first 2 levels. can anyone give me ideas.
WOW, the art in this game is AMAZING! And the gameplay has really great features, I like the disappearing platforms, conveyor belts, and level selection menu.
I think the best enemy for slime would be its opposite, like something completely un-flexible and rigid!
You could have a rock golem enemy that walks and jumps around the level, then when it finds the player, it damages them and slows them down.
The plan for the final boss was going to be another slime. And the original concept art was for its power to be earth or fire. Slimes have powers based on their color. Ex. Lemmy is Electricity hence the speed boost. So, I do think I should do a rock type. And I’ll make Lemmy’s little brother a fire type. Thx for the feedback.
The only thing that would be needed then is music for this game. If anyone wants to make music that would be greatly appreciated. ![]()
v0.2 is done. I decided to add coins which helps regain health. I plan on finishing this project sometime between January and March. Btw I always accept new ideas on how to improve this.
i would add something here, maybe some sand?
I would also transition the red tiling more cleanly too. Having large sections makes it very noisy.
Here is a pretty good example of where i have transitioned into a solid colour and bordered the solid area with tiles instead of filling it to get this edge effect.

I was planning on having something like that for the level select. having it fad from the red bricks into the normal Grey wall. The main inspiration for this level select came from sonic superstars. While the art was based of mania and forces

I haven’t made that level yet. I plan on finishing v0.4 before dec 9. Which should includes 4 more levels. But first I want to know what you guys would prefer. I had 3 different areas made an I can only use 1 for now. So I just want to know people’s opinion of which area would fit best.
- Frosty Hill (snowy mountain with many trees similar to dangerous docks)
- Crystal Cavern (introduces an antagonist)
- Rusty Desert (desert made of rusty metal)
I might bring back an area for a future area. And I will chose the one with the most votes unlike the mob vote. I will code in the winning area on dec 3rd and if anyone else has ideas pls share.
v0.4 is done. I added the 7th level and enhanced the level select design and got the 8th and 9th level ready.
How do I use the level selector?
I want to try the 7th level, but I can’t beat the earlier ones ![]()
For now, this level select only displays the next level after the next. I’ll add a separate level select to it at v0.5 and how to access it. But I took your advice about the rock enemy and made this
