this is a squeal to the disillusioned makecode mascot wars which I accidentally roped in poor @Brainstorm_Studios some how uhhhh.
the rules for this competition is basically compete to make the best platformer, which there needs to be a mascot (which should be the character you play)! each game per sprite or tile must at least use 5 colors, the music must be high quality, and the graphics must at least come to the level of nes game. you can enter in games you are already making but you can only make 1 game in this competition and only 10 people (besides me) can compete in this competition!
i guess this is happening ;-;
here’s my game i hope it’s good enough lol
ahem…
welcome to the colorful, vibrant world of Hoplings! join ryan on his way to restore the storybook he and the other hoplings live in and maybe even do some platforming along the way! there’s impressive visuals, expressive animations, a well thought out & dynamic moveset, smooth feeling physics, and more! what are you waiting for? hop on into the whimsical world of hoplings and have a blast!
(I know you said high quality music, but this game has NO music. sorry not sorry)
10 people have now currently been selected in for the brawl! You will have 25 days to release a new demo for the game or the official release during that time! the official only ends when everybody has submitted there game, then it will be judged by the community to who’s games best!
womp womp! I haven’t got a link for the game yet, so sad! but if I can give you news on the next update there are gonna be acts per level and a new highway level to! almost doubling the size of the game! plus I got these little npcs and better stage transitions now so I think that’s pretty cool
You’ve added SO MUCH since i left! I’m still a Hyper The Dragon fan and I can’t wait for all the new additions! Also @Brainstorm_Studios 's hoplings looks cool too along with everyone else! This’ll be an awesome competition!
hello traveler, I know it might be weird that I haven’t been posting as frequently since November but it was because of the complicated development which was making hyper the dragon. you see each level is made with a tile map and mechanics get introduced every level most of the time, and due to porting tilemaps being relatively buggy it takes a lot of time to make one of these levels. plus there’s like 18 power ups in the game with more to come but… on the bright side the game is really easy to code due to it being on makecode so you should expect a offial release this summer!
This little beta below doesn’t have the code for the 5th level yet but has the full tilemap of enemys collectables and enemys that are supposed to be added in the 5th level
