My first shmup game

I made my first shmup game and right now i only have the (most at least)
Ship upgrade assets, movement, background, and first two upgrades coded no enemies or anything, to get the first two upgrades just press the menu button.

I would like some feedback and any enemy ideas. I am planing on making bosses too, so if you want to suggest anything, go right ahead
If you have any suggestions for the design of the ship upgrades or the background please tell me, right now the upgrades look like how it would if it was realistic and no one tried to make it subtle.

do different types of enemies, i’m not an artist (i’m really bad at art) so i won’t give any design.

I now realize there is probably a tutorial on how to make one, but i have gotten so far without one and have played so many shmup’s that i understand the mechanics that I probably don’t need one

I was already doing that lol. What type though, I already have asteroids, turrets, shooting, melee, traps.

enemies that follow the player, anemies that move in specific ways, undestructible enemies, bosses.

Oh and btw i want all of the upgrades to be visible or have some sort of reference (like if a upgraded has to be hidden then it has something that shows its there)
Also when the game is fully complete if you want the final upgrades you will need to get the shield and armor before continuing the main path

Bosses were already planned. How would the enemies follow the player though?

Sure but then the enemy would chase the player up.
