My game is taking a while to load

That happens when you have a lot of data. Try deleting assets if possible. If not, that’s just how makecode works. I have the same problem with almost all of my projects too. If somebody has a better solution then I’m all ears.

if it takes a long time for the simulator to start, pressing the share button seems to force-start it for me

I guess it’s an IPad thing bcz I tested on computer and it works perfectly fine.
