I wish names were always that simple… but cross-country running doesn’t actually mean running from country to country. sigh
I like to think that it’s called cross country not because your are crossing a literal country, but country as in the ground, country-side or something
Yeah, but football (or what the muricans call “sOcCeR”) came first because, surprise - you play with your feet. Then the americans created a sport of their own which very much resembles rugby, but instead of naming it American rugby or something along the lines of that, they yoinked our name

Hm… AI usually requires inputs and a goal. One way would be to have the whole field and players as inputs, and the outputs as shooting or passing!
