Newbie here, help with new game, or just easy game ideas

I need help making games. I don’t have many original ideas, and I need a mentor. Can anyone help me? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

well tell us about yourself! what are you interested in? what media do you love and consume and interact with?

start collecting and noting the stuff you like to better inform what you want to make in the future. Maybe its to recreate your favourite game. Maybe you want to spread awareness about a niche like a book or a cool animal. Maybe you just want to make cool art and build worlds (me!).

Its completely fine to not have any “original ideas” because all great game devs (and artists) take existing ideas and combine and use them in new ways. Makecode itself very likely took inspiration from other block coding platforms like Scratch but adds other ideas like the pixel art arcade style and focus on other programming languages to make something that can be considered original.

If you want to publish a game on steam makecode isnt really a suitable platform for that. I would just set a more manageable goal like making an enjoyable game

roberto carrillo is a good chanel to make things and the official makecode arcade channel is also good

@Luke yea I know but were using an engine similar to makecode so I thought I’d start there.
