we need to get it trimmed down. one area with one boss seems like enough for a game jam game, plus we wouldn’t need to add more tiles (or at least not as many)
plus, it makes it short enough to be played on stream.

Maybe we could actually combine the two versions of the last area. I know we settled on the shadowy cert but maybe there’s some areas where the floor is nothing but lava and it’s completely illuminated by its orange glow. The lava could be a giant obstacle you need to do a puzzle to do or just parkour over it. Maybe there’s enemy’s jumping out the lava like the fish in sonic or Mario.

anyway. to finish by the halloween jam, we just need to make some levels with luke’s existing tilemap, and add some enemies. everything else should be done.
IF WE HAVE TIME before the jam deadline, Not-a-creepy-Doll’s idea is pretty cool.

Npc edition
every good game has an NPC, be it a shop guy or a glorified prize.
- A Grim Reaper that could either be a antagonistic force that will soon turn into an enemy or just someone to talk to and make jokes (I would lean towards the latter, mainly because I love goofy grim reaper characters)
- Is that plague doctor still a shop dude, if not then maybe it could be Tantalos or Sysiphius
- There could also be little quests that, after completing them, you can get a new weapon to start your run. ( these could also be people like Tantalos and Sysiphius)
- uhhhh brain fart. That’s all I got cooking up but uhh everyone keep doing the good work.

Make a guardian that is Talos, the giant bronze protector of crete.
(I stuck with the sisyphus shopkeeper idea with the myth stuff, also there’s a ted-ed video on talos and its really cool go check it out)
