the idea is a being that likes to be a challenge for players. if they fail, they should get a more impending and frustrating punishment’s to make they try harder and get better. therefore I think that when the player dies a floating eye should go where the player died to guard that spot for next time, making dying annoying.

The idea is learning, progression of the player’s skills. Annoying the player whenever they die is an unimportant feature that kicks the player when they are already down. It also distracts them from getting back up and tackling the real goal/challenge - the place where they last died.
Also switching up your idea to help the player helps with this goal much more V

…I’m not part of the development of the game, but I already know that it’s a no. That’s… not good gameplay. You’re making the game HARDER every time the person dies? That’s… not quite right

I think @top_hat_lord is referring to the Shade mechanic in Hollow Knight. Essentially, if you died, you would be sent to a checkpoint. If you went to the point of your death, an enemy would be waiting for you called a shade (like a player’s ghost). Killing it would grant you all your soul, health, and money back, whilst dying to it would make you lose all of it. You have to kill it within a 5-minute timer (I may be wrong on this; search it on Google for more details).

Yeah but the shade doesn’t spawnkill you and it gets harder as your skills progress (it’s got the same skills and stuff as the player) so it’s way more balanced

Considering how many projects I’m juggling at the moment I think I’m done working on this.
I have already given y’all a really good foundation to start working on having done all the art for the player, tilemap, several layers of background art and I’ve created an enemy with complex movement.
If you want to work on it then please don’t wait for other people I certainly didn’t
