Possibility of adding Sharps and Flats to the music editor (or Piano Roll editor)?

Hello everyone,

Firstly I’d just like to say I’m very impressed with the functionality and ease of use of MakeCode Arcade. I’ve been using it at after-school clubs, and have started using it for term-long theme based game dev competitions at them.

I was just wondering whether there were any plans to add the ability to make notes sharp or flat, so that we can compose a much wider variety of music, that is not limited to essentially staying in one “mode”, depending on the key.

A piano roll editor (with full chromaticism) would be a very nice addition also.

All the best!

Oh brilliant! I had no idea they had that function in there. It’d probably be better if they also added a GUI element for it so that everyone is aware of it.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, this is possible! When pressing the ctrl button, you can click on buttons to make them sharp, or flat! Secondly, you can also press shift, and click a button to delete it (of course, you can always just normally click on it). Lastly, make sure that when making music, you keep in mind that notes of the same type cannot be overlapping, or else the first one will delete the other one.
