RAIDERS devlog

Hi

I have never mentioned this game on the forum before, and it’s been one of my projects for a while, so this is a devlog my new(ish) survival game, RAIDERS.
It’s sort of a cross between Minecraft and Forager, but with Pokemon inspired battle scenes. It’s currently unfinished (of course) but as soon as I finish Alpha 1.0.0 I’ll post it here. The cool thing is the world is all auto generated (I have no idea how but my friend did all the work with the auto-generation). The goal is to survive as long as possible while keeping your health, nutrition, hydration, and energy bars up. Obviously nobody can really play to see the game yet so I’ll post some little sneak peeks here:

Thanks, I tried to go for a Forager-based game but not one that is heavily influenced by minecraft.

Okay, just a quick update on Alpha 1.0:
It’s getting closer to release, but there are just a few creatures I need to finish up

  1. Rat (done, but I need to fix the bite)
  2. Rabbit (done)
  3. Squirrel
  4. Duck
  5. Mosquito (you can’t battle them they just hover around you)

Besides that, I need to add the Health, Nutrition, Energy and Hydration bars to the game.

Hopefully Alpha 1.0 will be out sometime in the next few days, but it could be longer, I completely suck at setting release dates so we’ll just go with soon.

Just a quick update, I’m currently coding Alpha 0.6, so we’re getting closer to the first release. I managed to make Nutrition and Hydration bars go down (Hydration goes down faster) and Energy slowly depletes while running. I also managed to convert the tilemap into an image and save that image in settings, then use color coded tilemaps extension to load the Image as a tilemap. So in other words Tilemaps now save.

I’m trying to make a day/night cycle, which is easy, but I want the music to fade out from day music and then fade in to night music and vice versa. is there a way to do this?

I’m basically wondering if anyone’s made an extension for this, like fading out volume.

Okay, so due to a glitch, you can now play a pre-release incredibly early version of the game here:
Extensions won’t delete and it’s messing with project (aka pre release)

An easy way would be to loop volume down, change the song at 0, and then loop it back to normal.

So @Rune would that just be a while loop or how would you set it up?
can you post a screenshot

It might not be possible, as I couldn’t get it to work.

Here’s my test project if you want to fiddle with it: https://makecode.com/_bTCfc66LwJwo

IMPORTANT!!!

okay so I forgot to mention, this game will have a lot of community input. I kinda got some of the ideas from Minecraft Live, but whatever.

Anyway, every update will have a “Creature Vote” (inspired by mob votes) where you choose between three creatures to add to the game. Every other update will include either an “Item contest” (you make up a REALISTIC-ISH item, explain how to obtain it and its uses) or a “Biome Contest” (same thing, REALISTIC-ISH biomes; I won’t accept any that are way out there)

So remember to set this topic to watching

I’m currently working on axe functions, but once I’m done with that the ducks and squirrels and mosquitos will go into the project, then that’s probably it for this version.

I haven’t worked on this in a while, but it’s not gonna be abandoned, trust me. I’m still competing in CK5 and there have been a few very difficult workarounds for the inventory, so it’s taking a while but the first official update WILL BE OUT SOON I PROMISE!!!
