The biggest game

Well I’m thinking good of doing some stuff with going to other planets since I played a really nice game called Starlink: Battle for Atlas which was based around a star system, so I have an idea what goes on there. I asked @kwx if I could use his Space Rocks 3D simulations and he said yes, but also said that if I tried it on a low end piece of hardware like the Meowbit, it would certainly crash the game, which meant my ideas for using the shadows extension but the dust. Unless we make a separate game for each piece of hardware, it’ll be very hard to make his game in any way.

That’s my thoughts at the moment

Not necessarily. The way I understand it, the shadow/shader extension only causes slowdowns while it’s in use. It may still be possible to have multiple more heavyweight effects in the game overall as long as you don’t try to use them at the same time. I don’t think it would make sense to use the shader extension on top of 3D graphics, you could simply adjust the brightness of rendered polygons directly instead. So you could potentially use 3D graphics in one part of the game, and 2D graphics with the shader extension in other parts.

My concern was that the 3D graphics by themselves already use a lot of resources that may make it difficult to fit other parts of the game. That may be partially fixable by being careful about freeing up unused resources when switching modes, but it still seems challenging.

Hey @UnsignedArduino @UnderwaterAstronaut and @Agent_14, do you guys have any idea how to transfer uf2 files to a Raspberry Pi?

I need to know this since I’m deciding what piece of hardware to use for Arcade

I don’t. Ask @peli.

You don’t use the UF2 file AFAIK, you download a file for the Pi and transfer it to the Pig’s uSD card. I think you use an ELF file.

There is some documentation for it:

Well then, @peli what are your words of wisdom?

first of all you need an sd card with NOOBS, second of all you need an sd adapter because the raspberry pi cannot write on sd cards

What is happening here?

Don’t know

@LcAtonal and @MopishCobra75, I’m looking for hardware to test games on, and as you know, the biggest game is going to be very hard to run on things like a Meowbit, so I’m asking the rest of the community for help!

Can I see the latest thing everyone coded

@omnisImperium, @GameGod, and @LcAtonal, can you share the latest thing you have done to the biggest game

Sorry, but are you still working on this, I mean, you haven’t been responding lately, and if you don’t reply soon…

Then I am going to have to take matters into my own hands, sorry, please reply soon

Sorry I keep forgetting (facepalm)

What exactly do you mean by “take matters into my own hands”?

I have indefinitely paused development on the game because of school related coding projects, personal projects, and my ever lasting itch to create an extension

Can I help? I put what I do in the polls

I mean, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, let me know if new people want to help, or if you don’t want to help anymore, and @purna079, you can help.

Hey hey if more people help, they’ll have to know who’s working on what and where they can help y’know
@purna079 what do you wanna help with again?

Really sorry @MopishCobra75, I’m in the exact same spot as @omnisImperium, I have school work and a constant flow of homework that won’t let me get anything done

Whoa what does that mean?!

All I wanted to know is if you are still working on this
