TORMENT: remastered

Hey, Remember this: ?

Well. I been working on a remastered version, going over parts that I messed up missed or just didn’t like. For those who don’t know, torment is a dead cells inspired game, with a one hit mechanic, keep moving and you probably won’t die.

Some issues with the old game:

Difficulty scaling was way too high. I will add different game modes so you can choose a difficulty and a set amount of lives. I will also make it to where each level slowly gets more difficult.

The game had no story. that is being fixed right now.

No new weapons. Those will be added.

Here is an open beta:

and uh. You can’t die controls are: WASD to move arrow keys to shoot, and hold down to reload. Click W to jump. And if you get stuck in the hole there is no leaving. (Oops.) Just reset your game.

Update: Been working on player dying, and damage numbers. There were some small bug fixes. made the enemy sight shorter. Now if an enemy is out of sight, and is shot it will follow you even if you’re too far away for to to see you.

Little feedback poll, If you have played the previous game, you had probably noticed that the only way to make it to the next level was to kill everything. But if you didn’t know the tile map structure. that would be difficult. So I came up with this solution. There are different goals for each level:

1 of the three:
kill the targets, (their position is revealed on a mini map. or something along the lines of that.)

Run through the level as fast as possible (make it to the exit under a time limit.)

eliminate the majority of the monsters. (80 percent enemies are slain.)

  • I like the new objectives.

  • I like the new objectives but I think they need some modification.

  • I think the old objective was better.

And finally what are some tools or utilities you want in the new game?

Thanks for reading/voting, I am really proud of what I have been making.
