I am a verified teacher (Github account: “mrphanz” and I would like to access the TEALS intro to Comptuer Scinece course material, but I cannot access it. For the TEALS course it shows:
Hi Paul, thanks for posting on the forum! And apologies you’re having issues accessing the curriculum. I did check your GitHub account and it does not look like you’ve been approved as a verified educator yet. If you’ve sent in a request and filled out the application, I can check with the GitHub team to see where you are in the verification process. Hopefully shouldn’t take more than a couple days.
Hi Paul. That does indeed look like you’re verified! Let me check with the GitHub Education team and see if they can pull more information about the status of your account. In the meantime, if you could open an in-private/incognito browser window, log into GitHub with this account, and then click on those curriculum links again? And let me know if you can access. Maybe it takes some time to propagate through the system, or maybe there was some local caching going on…
The Github Educator Verification seems to be a troublesome process. Is there any of way educators can gain access to these curriculum? Or since it is hosted on Github, this is the only way to prevent students from accessing it? Just wondering since this seems to be an ongoing issue for educators.
If it helps, in terms of the links you provided - I am able to access the AP material, but the TEALS course still says “GitHub Teacher Verification Failed”.
@jacqueline.russell I am having the same issue. I am a verified teacher, but am not able to access any of the materials via the links. I have posted on multiple threads to attempt to get access to the course materials with no response. Can you please assist with access? I have been verified for several weeks and am wanting to use the course materials with my class urgently. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Hi all. After investigation, we have found that due to some new security policies we are blocked from sending automated repo invitations. So, we are going to be manually inviting/adding people to the curriculum repository until we can move to a longer-term solution. So, if you need access to the Intro CS course materials, and have been verified through GitHub, please fill out this request form - https://forms.office.com/r/gCC9sC0krg
