Originals (4-6) are the best, the prequels (1-3) are great too, I mean if we’re talking Star Wars anything except the sequels goes for me

I actually liked the force awakens?

Fair enough, it was the first of the sequels. While it wasn’t terrible, it kind of underdelivered imo. Still wayy better than the mess that came after it though

I was today years old when I found out that you either love Shrek, like “live laugh love” poster type love. OR you hate Shrek with every fiber of your being.

Anyways time for the numbers, again.

…oh no. Oh no, oh no oh no. OH NO. If we start this, we’ll be here all day.

Let’s get real here—Shrek is one massively overrated film. People rave about it, but I just can’t see why. In my opinion, it falls flat in so many ways and just doesn’t live up to the hype.

First off, the storytelling is a snooze fest. Sure, it starts off with this ogre named Shrek going on a rescue mission for Princess Fiona, but it quickly becomes a predictable mess. It’s like they took every fairytale cliché and threw it into a blender. yawn… And don’t even get me started on the forced pop culture references and parodies. They’re supposed to be funny, but they come off as desperate attempts to be relevant.

Let’s talk characters. Shrek himself is fine, I guess, but everyone else is forgettable. Fiona starts off as a typical damsel in distress, and her big “reveal” as an ogre doesn’t add any depth to her character—just a cheap twist. And what’s the deal with Donkey? He’s nothing more than an annoying sidekick, trying way too hard to be funny but failing miserably. These characters are as shallow as a puddle, and I couldn’t care less about their journey.

And humor? Well, Shrek tries to be funny, but it misses the mark more times than I can count. The jokes range from childish potty humor to half-hearted attempts at adult humor. It’s like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to entertain kids or adults, so they settled for a lukewarm mix that satisfies no one. And those endless pop culture references? They might have gotten a chuckle back in the day, but now they feel outdated and forced.

In my honest opinion, Shrek is just another animated film that got way too much praise for what it’s worth. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s not hilarious, and it definitely doesn’t stand the test of time. People may still have a soft spot for it, but I’ll pass. Give me a film with a compelling story, well-developed characters, and genuinely funny humor any day over this overhyped ogre of a movie.

Let the war begin.
