Which slime is better?

This one is mine, I made it based on the Neo Geo Pocket Colour’s limitation and I also like having flat shading as I think the stylisation makes it look better.

This one is my friend’s; he says it’s 100 times better because it has shading and just looks better as a whole.

What do you guys think?

I think they both look great, depending on the theme of the project, but normally i would go for #2.

I like the first one’s shape, but the second one’s shading is a nice touch to add.

I’d say just add soft shading to the first one’s design and you should be good to go. :+1:t2:

The second one

Hmm. I like the shape of the first one more, but the second is more detailed. It depends on what the rest of the sprites look like- if they are mostly flat shaded, the first will fit, but if they are shaded than the second will look more at home.

First one has a nicer colour but second has better shading (pillow shading though :weary:)

…Uh… That isn’t pillow shading…

Pillow shading is a shading technique where shadow is added toward the edges of objects in a scene, irrespective of the light source. The technique is called pillow shading because the shading crowds around the outline and the outlines only, making the area of color appear softened. Pillow shading occurs when the artist does not understand how the 3D form of the object works.
