Fun! It would be cool if the guards gave you a hint as to where they were appearing (sometimes they appear on the player).
You could create a hint sprite with a lifetime to show where they appear and then create the actual guard when the hint gets destroyed. Something like this:
In the destroyed event, I dragged out the sprite variable from the event for the last block
