Hey folks!
Now that the submission period for Heist Jam is finished, it’s time for a new mini game jam! But first, did you know that the winners of the Heist Jam will be announced this Friday? It’s true! Make sure you tune in to the MakeCode Arcade livestream at twitch.tv/msmakecode on Friday at 1:00 PM PST to see the results!
Now as for the mini game jam, this month’s theme was inspired by @TeddyB’s Heist Jam game. This time around, we’re going to be looking for games that feature Multitasking as a primary mechanic! That’s right! We want games where you have to keep a bunch of plates spinning to win.
Some examples of good interpretations of this theme:
- A game where you need to monitor a bunch of simultaneously cooking meals like in Overcooked
- A game where you have to manage a city/park and deal with lots of crises as they arise, like Sim City, Cities: Skylines, or Rollercoaster Tycoon
- An RTS game where you have to order around lots of units on a battlefield in real time like in StarCraft or Unicorn Overlord
- Or one of the many DS games that had you do a different game on each screen like Henry Hatsworth
You can interpret this theme however you want, but it should be obvious how your game relates to the theme without the need for more explanation.
Rules
- Games should be built in MakeCode Arcade
- Games should clearly adhere to the theme without the need for any extra explanation
- Keep the games PG: no NSFW, offensive, or excessively violent content.
- You must be at least 9 years old to participate.
- All games must be submitted by someone who is at least 13 years old. Younger students are welcome to participate, but it must be in partnership with an adult and with parent permission.
Submit your games by replying to this topic. Because it’s the holiday season, you have until the end of December to submit! And, as always, we’ll be playing all of the submission on livestream on the Friday after submissions close so watch out for that!
