Boulders and Gems (work in progress)

I updated Boulders and Gems with some new sound effects from my demo, here’s a new version:

The yellow “?” is a level selector, you can use that to bypass the early tutorial levels if you want to go directly to the more devious puzzles. (There are currently 8 levels.)

I hope people don’t mind reviving this old thread, but I was getting annoyed about the slow performance on hardware for the larger levels and had an idea to improve that. Here’s a new version which is more responsive:

I also added five new levels that are easier than the original final levels, so maybe give it another go if you were getting annoyed at those. (I still tend to make deadly mistakes on “13: Diamond rain” myself…) The graphics and animations are also slightly updated, and there’s now a level name/number splash screen to make it easier to find the one you want from the level selector.

@kwx some user claims to own the game you are creating, i would like to verify this statement. His name is malek.

I love how the boulders not only fall down but also topple over! The physics are super cool!

It’s obviously based on the classic game Boulder Dash from 1984, but I wrote this version myself. It’s more of a puzzle game while the original needed good reflexes also.

@MrWaltz-b14 , so what’s going on with this malek user? You’ve now asked similar questions for multiple different projects, and I think it’s getting a bit weird. To be clear, I didn’t collaborate with anybody on the Boulders and Gems implementation. (Apart from using built-in Arcade and tilemap features.) This thread pretty much covers the extent of my communications with others about the game.
