Cannot find Vietnamese language option in MakeCode Arcade (Web and Desktop App)

Hello MakeCode Team and Community,

I am writing to report a persistent issue I’m facing with MakeCode Arcade. I am unable to find the Vietnamese language option in the language selection menu, either on the web version or the desktop app. This is preventing me from using the platform in my native language.

Here’s what I’ve experienced and the extensive steps I’ve tried to troubleshoot:

  1. Platform where issue occurs:

    • Web version: I have consistently accessed the exact URL https://arcade.makecode.com/ (please see attached screenshot confirming the URL if necessary).
    • Desktop app: This app was downloaded and installed directly from the Microsoft Store.

  2. Problem description:

    • When I click on the language selection icon (the globe icon on the web, or settings/gear icon on the app), the list of available languages does not include “Tiếng Việt” (Vietnamese).
    • The list I see is limited, as shown in the attached screenshot below:

* This issue occurs consistently on both the web and desktop app versions.

  1. Troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

    • Verified URL: Confirmed I am on https://arcade.makecode.com/ for the web version.
    • Cleared browser cache and cookies: Performed a full clear for “All time” on multiple web browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge).
    • Tried different web browsers: Tested on [Nêu các trình duyệt cụ thể bạn đã thử, ví dụ: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox].
    • Used Incognito/Private mode in browsers: The problem persists even in these modes, suggesting it’s not due to browser extensions or cached data.
    • Updated the MakeCode desktop app: Checked for updates via the Microsoft Store Library, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the app entirely.
    • Checked Windows regional settings: Confirmed my operating system’s “Country or region” is set to “Vietnam” and primary display language is standard (e.g., English or Vietnamese).
    • Tried on a different network connection: (If you tried this, mention it here, e.g., “Tested using a mobile hotspot connection instead of my home Wi-Fi.”).
    • Temporarily disabled browser extensions, VPN, and Firewall: (If you tried this, mention it here, e.g., “Disabled all browser extensions, VPN, and temporarily turned off Windows Firewall to rule out conflicts.”).
    • Attempted to upload images for this post: Experienced difficulties with image upload initially, but have confirmed the images are correctly formatted and sized for upload now.

  2. My Environment Details:

    • Operating System: [Windows 10 22H2]
    • Browser (if applicable): [ Google Chrome Version 126.0.6478.127 (Official Build) (64-bit)]
    • Current Date and Time (Hanoi, Vietnam): [ July 3, 2025, 3:15 PM +07]

I am keen to use MakeCode Arcade in Vietnamese for my projects. Given the extensive troubleshooting steps I’ve already taken, I would greatly appreciate any specific guidance or deeper insights into why this particular issue might be occurring.
