It is May Day! Send this very post to let any European friends know that today is May Day! I, even though I’m American, celebrate May Day, as it’s cultural respect for Europe, and the start of Summer.

Why is W called Double U ( UU ) instead of Double V ( VV )

The first day of summer.

Some people write like that (especially in medieval times)

Idk rlly know but I think it’s some pagan festival

Because America makes them more circular at the bottom like a U
I know that in French you say W like doub-le-vee

its like a holiday about spring, it originated from a pagan festival but now it isnt

Because when writing, people in medieval times would signal readers to make a “w” sound using “uu” to signify the double u sound, because they used two u’s! For example, they would write it like “uuen” to say “when”!
