It is for reasons like this that I think that the public voting booth is the worst and most under-thought decision in coder king history. It pains me to think that someone would vote for someone not because of their game but vote for them out of favoritism, a 100% biased action. This is obviously the result of little game-developing experience and irresponsibility. In summary, the forum cannot be trusted because people already know the contestants and certain people will just pick their favorite person, not their favorite game. I propose that we find an external judge, someone like a professional video game developer. This way, we have an expert that knows nothing about the contestants and can give a professional and 100% unbiased review.
Oof, I hadnāt considered that⦠I donāt think we can get a professional though
Perhaps we could include only the name/link to the game in the poll, NOT the name of the creator. This makes it more likely people will have to play the games to choose a vote! (You could possibly still look back at other messages to find whose game is whose, but thatās a serious level of poll-breaking-favoritism)
I agree, it would be impossible to ensure that everyoneās votes are unbiased and chosen fairly
Fair.
Thatās impossible. Also, notice how people have different opinions? Hereās the solution: Literally just do annonymous voting. Itās really that simple
@Luke @Brohann @InvalidProject
After listening to @Brohann criticism, Iāll change some stuff to the public voting booth. I might also try to scout for an external judge.
But, hereās the plan so far: In order to prevent as much bias and favoritism as possible, Iāll vote on the poll on what is my favorite finale game, whereas my vote is worth 100 points.
Thatās what you might think but in reality it would be very easy to determine who made which game based on their different art styles
@Luke @Brohann @InvalidProject
and I need the publicās reaction
- Yes
- No
- idc
I mean not to be that guy but like- thatās how any form of voting works. Favoritism and bias is unavoidable. And besides, doesnāt the opinion of the players matter more then the hostās?
I meant that the people who vote are annonymous. I donāt think favoritism among the forum members is as big of an issue as you might think it is.
what we could do is vote and then write why we voted for them.
Ooo can I join? I havenāt been on the forum for very long but I have been using Makecode for much longer!!! Besides, if iām not good I will get eliminated anyways so no trouble on your part!
I might be really really late actually idk
Itās the final lol
Also happy birthday!
I think this ALONG WITH anonymous voting is perfect.
Hey, happy anniverssary!
How do you vote annonymously and then explain why you voted the way you did without revealing who you voted for?
Wouldnāt it be funny if I submitted the full version of Zombies of God for this competition ā¦hmmm
Iām working on my card game but block objects are really frustrating to work with
anticipation is rising
What will be @InvalidProject next move?
