I’m currently trying to implement a hair style saving mechanism. I’m going with a hash and id system, but the ids are very long. I’m not 100% sure if there’s a better way to save all the hair segments’ color, angle, scale, etc. without having some crazy long hex code.
For the story mode there’s going to be 6 characters to start, each with a desired hair style, and that’s where the hash code comes in handy.
I’m planning on submitting this game into @RoboVacDev’s game jam. @richard, sense RoboVac’s game jam isn’t hosted by the mods, could this game be submitted to a future jam if it fits the theme?

the point of game jams is usually to make new games, but we’re pretty lax on enforcing that
unhelpful hint to the next game jam theme (which will be announced on wednesday): this does not fit the theme.

yes. I was thinking about this too, as you can just cut the hair off but not grow it back if it’s fully shaven. If you’ve heard of toca boca hair salon 2, that’s what I want the final version to be like (at least with the same functionalities. different art of course) I played that a lot when I was a kid

I’m going to post the next version of the game this Monday. That version should have complete code for now. After that I’ll be working heavily on art and music!

Later than I was expecting, here is the first finished version of the game!
I am so proud of this game! Thank you all for your help and support! As said, this is the first finished version and I am hoping to patch some bugs in the future and add some more stuff and characters, but this is a great game so far.
I want to thank everyone for commenting, liking, or just watching this game come to life.
At the start of this month, I had an idea. I didn’t have any of the code organized, just floating ideas and unfinished projects. I didn’t even know how to draw really good until you guys helped me.
I think what I’m trying to say is that it’s amazing what can be done with art and code. Art by itself is beautiful, from mountains to valleys. Code by itself is powerful, like thought or spirit if you will. But I think when both of them come together, you get something amazing. A video game! Something that is both beautiful and powerful. Something that can grow.
Again, thanks for everyone’s support! I hope you enjoyed watching this grow as I did.

One reccomendation, I think you should make the transitions shorter, since it takes quite a long time. Otherwise, it’s a great game!
