Alright, listen. I don’t like to be serious, because I love to have fun, and joke around…but I have a serious problem dealing with my code. So you see, EvoCats I wanted to share for a long time. But it never let me download the game into a link, for which it has “too much code”, always telling me I have no internet, even when I have perfectly fine internet. It won’t allow me to download it into a file, or a link. And this morning, Zombies of God ran into the same issue. It is not allowing itself to be processed into a link to be shared, or any file. Please, if there is any way I can fix this, please tell me. It would mean the world if it worked. @richard
hmmm you can’t download it at all? even using the download button (i.e. not the save icon)?
Unfortunately, the only way it saves is by auto-saving. It won’t download into a file, and refused to convert into a link.
can you open the browser developer tools and send me anything that shows up in the console when you try to download?
I think I found the culprit
@InvalidProject ah, i’m guessing you have a lot of animations/large images?
You can try converting them into named assets in the assets tab. That should reduce the size of main.blocks
I don’t have too much animations, since it’s mostly just normal code and small images, the biggest is 30x30. And sure! Is there anyway I can fix this issue in general? Like for link converting?
i’m looking at the code in your repo and i see several full-screen sized animations with 6+ frames each.
to avoid these issues, i recommend never creating animations that cover the whole screen; full screen images take up a LOT of space. Instead, try to create animations with smaller sprites.
for example, looks like you’re animating the word “Fight” in the middle of the screen, surrounded by transparency. if you redid the animation with just the word and none of the surrounding empty pixels, it would be way smaller
Oh- Yeah I completely forgot about that
now can you send Evo cats?
Hey! I’ve been seeing you bring this up quite up a bit, so let me explain for everyone; EvoCats will most likely not be released. This is because although the game is fully completed, it is extremely outdated and has horrible optimization. Fixing the issue would take a long time, which we deemed wasn’t worth it. We might pick it up, but I can’t say for sure.
Falls to ground and dies on the inside
Hopefully you can revive it one day
